Science, Technology, System & Economics: Outlook - Assessment - Scenario

The Conference is organized by the cultural association Solidarietà e Sviluppo (Solidarity and Development), an Italian think-tank of professionals, working in several technical and scientific fields.
The Promoting Committee includes also some important Italian companies, active in the space business, namely: Aero Sekur, Alenia Spazio, ALTEC, Finmeccanica. The Conference is organized in two Workshops: the former in Venice next May, the latter planned in Washington, DC next October.

The Venice Workshop will be an opportunity to share the base ideas of the project with the overall scientific, industrial and political communities, offering a preliminary view of the mission feasibility and the enabling technologies. Moreover, the main scientific activities in the Moon environment, and the highlights of the possible developments, experimental tests and industrial spin-offs connected with the exploration activity, will be introduced. The Venice Workshop analyses Science, Technology, System and Economics of moon base project, in order to give a complete, even if preliminary, outlook and assessment of the programme and to introduce the scenario in which the international treaty can be achieved. Therefore, the Venice Workshop is structured in the following sessions:

The Round Table, scheduled in the second day, will provide the summary of the open questions, with the aim to introduce the next Washington, DC Workshop.

Due to the heterogeneous activities of the participants, this contribution would be not tailored to meet only the scientific world, but open to the entire community.

The contributions should be position papers, providing information about the state of art of the different research areas, integrated with all the documentation useful for the aims of the workshop.

All the contributions of the invited speakers have been collected and published in the ICMB Proceedings CD-ROM. This documents will be distributed in multimedia format to the attendees during the conference, and will be shared with the interested public via this website in the Proceedings section.
